(Yicai Global) March 9 -- Shanghai reported no new cases of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 yesterday, leaving the total in the eastern metropolis standing at 342, the city's health commission announced this morning.

Among the total, three have died and nine are in a critical state. 314 have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospital and 16 are in stable condition. 

The patients are aged between seven months and 88 years of age and include 180 men and 162 women.

Some 145 have lived in or visited Hubei province, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, 159 have had close contact with other patients, 34 have lived in or visited other provinces or regions in China, and four have lived in Iran, the commission said.

The city has cleared 2,531 suspected cases as of yesterday and another 30 are undergoing further tests.
