(Yicai Global) Oct. 26 -- China's stock markets made gains in today's early trading, closing higher. The Shanghai Composite Index broke through 3,400 points, hitting a new record high in nearly two years, while the Growth Enterprise Index reversed the earlier losses by the end of the morning session.

The Shanghai Composite Index increased 0.46 percent to 3,412.45 points at the close, the new high since January 2016, with turnover of CNY134.1 billion (USD20.2 billion).

The Shenzhen Component Index strengthened to 11,496.96 points, up 0.52 percent, turning over CNY161.6 billion.

The Growth Enterprise Index added 0.20 percent at 1,917.01 points, with CNY43.1 billion exchanged.
