(Yicai Global) Aug. 11 -- Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido Co.'s business in China performed well in the first half, per the company's recently released financial data.

Its operating income in China was USD45.8 million (JPY5 billion), up 125.7 percent annually. The firm's overall operating income was JPY34.7 billion, marking a 79.3-percent rise. Shiseido's sales in the first half reached JPY472.1 billion, an increase of 14.5 percent annually. Sales in China totaled about JPY68.7 billion, up 17.4 percent.

The enterprise's high-end cosmetic products such as those under the Shiseido, Cle de PeauBeaute and IPSA brands witnessed continued growth. E-commerce helped bolster the sales volume of personal care brands.
