(Yicai Global) July 3 -- Chinese real estate manager Soho China, which withdrew from the development sector in 2012, plans to re-enter the industry in anticipation of monetary easing over the next few years, according to Chairman Pan Shiyi.

"You've forgotten that I used to do real estate development, Pan said at a recent conference opening speech. "I was very active in the sector," he added, before revealing that Soho might revert to its land acquisition business model.

"Buying a piece of land and building homes there will create value for society and for the company, so this could be our next step," he said. Pan expects cheaper loans as monetary easing continues over the next few years, but believes that "while money may be cheap, homes will be valuable."

Pan, who founded Soho in 1995 with his wife Zhang Xin, has been evading the risks that rapidly rising land and home prices posed to the sector for nearly seven years. The firm announced in August 2012 that it would stop buying land and focus on managing the properties it owns.
