(Yicai Global) Dec. 7 -- Cafe chain operator Starbucks Corp. [NASDAQ:SBUX] has opened a fully immersive coffee experience store in Shanghai.

The 2,700-square-meter shop in that city's downtown area is the largest Starbucks and the second Reserve Roastery. The first is in Seattle in the US.

The new one features a unique ceiling with 10,000 handmade wooden tiles and a two-story-tall copper can decorated with more than 1,000 traditional Chinese seals and patterns.

China is the fastest-growing market for the American beverage retailer, and Shanghai boasts more Starbucks locations than any other city in the world. Starbucks operates more than 3,000 of them in the country and plans to open another 2,000 by 2021.

The Shanghai Reserve Roastery perfectly combines the 47-year retail innovation of Starbucks with the rich and bright Chinese culture, Starbucks Executive Chairman Howard Schultz said yesterday.
