(Yicai Global) June 24 -- Authorities in Tangshan, a renowned industrial city in China's Hebei province, plan to tighten restrictions over local iron and steel production in order to improve the continuously deteriorating quality of air in the region.
Iron and steel firms in Tangshan will need to cut down production between today and Aug. 1, the local government said online. Authorities will decide whether the period will need extending depending on how much air quality improves.
