(Yicai Global) July 11 -- China's Teld New Energy has won a tender to make electric car charging stations across the country for German carmaker BMW's local unit.

Teld New Energy will build 80 battery charging stations for BMW Brilliance Automotive's 4S stores, the Qingdao-based electric vehicle leasing firm's parent Tgood Electric reported, adding that it will eventually also operate these stations.

The cooperation will help to integrate Munich-based BMW's unmanned intelligent driving and charging technologies to create standards for battery charging business, the report said, adding that this will also help Teld New Energy to enter the service market for the world's leading car companies.

BMW signed a contract with Great Wall Motors yesterday to set up a China-based joint venture with a total investment of CNY5.1 billion (USD766 million) to make new energy vehicles for the global market.
