(Yicai Global) Sept. 26 -- Chinese tech giant Tencent Holdings Ltd.'s [HK:0700] Tencent Cloud released its 3rd-generation server matrix with significantly improved computing performance.

The matrix includes 26 sections that cover 192 application scenarios related to e-commerce, video, gaming and financial businesses, allowing users to build custom systems that best suit their needs, TechWeb reported.

The new matrix is equipped with Skylake, the latest central processing unit (CPU) technology from Intel Corp. [NASDAQ:INTC], with at least 60 percent more computing capacity than its predecessors. The new chipset offers an intranet bandwidth of 25 gigabytes per second, improving the transceiver performance by about 200 percent.

Tencent Cloud will release two new storage systems with enhanced performance and data throughput capacity. The new systems' capacity for processing and data throughput are 8.3 times and five times higher than their predecessor, respectively, and can meet the requirements of big data operations.

Tencent Cloud opened a new data center in Seoul (South Korea) following the establishment of facilities in Silicon Valley (US) and Frankfurt (Germany). The platform plans to build more centers in Mumbai (India), Moscow (Russia), Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan) and Washington, DC (US).
