(Yicai Global) Sept. 13 -- Chinese tech giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700] will hold its seventh global partner conference in Chengdu, capital of western China's Sichuan province, in November, said Wang Lan, deputy general manager of the company's development platform.

Representatives from all of Tencent's 20 or so business units, some 350 distinguished guests from all over the world and nearly 10,000 business partners and executives will attend the conference, which is the firm's largest annual industry event, online media outlet China Securities reported.

The firm will unveil a development strategy to upgrade its business at the meeting, Wang said. It will mark a platform-ecosystem-industry upgrade that incorporates content companies into Tencent's business partner system for the first time through a new startup ecosystem combining online and offline businesses.

Tencent's developer service platform went live in 2010 and has created about 11 million jobs and assisted four million startups so far, with a total valuation of more than USD45.92 billion (CNY300 billion).

Chengdu was chosen as host city because TiMi Studio, the developer of best-selling mobile game King of Glory, is based there, Tencent said. The city is also the fifth largest digital economy in China after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
