(Yicai Global) Dec. 17 -- Tesla's enlarged Shanghai factory, which started delivering Model 3s late last year, should kick off production this month, according to an executive.

The plan's second phase should begin trial production within this year, China News Service reported today, citing Grace Tao, global vice president. The car company is working hard to reach its annual production target of 150,000 vehicles in China, she added.

Next year, Tesla will make at least 10,000 V3 Superchargers in China, which is more than the number of charging piles its Chinese network contains so far, said Tao.

California-headquartered Tesla started exporting its China-made Model 3s to Europe in late October.
