(Yicai Global) Nov. 26 -- Tesla plans to invest CNY42 million (USD6.4 million) to build a new plant in Shanghai to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure in China.

The plant is scheduled to be completed in February 2021 to produce 10,000 charging piles per year, public municipal information shows.

The US electric carmaker said on Weibo on Nov. 6 that by December, it will have nearly 650 supercharging stations in China, rising from the current more than 490, covering more than 250 cities.
