(Yicai) April 1 -- The 12th North Bund Fortune and Culture Forum was held at W Shanghai The Bund yesterday, with the aim of promoting the integration of finance and culture.

Culture is an important factor in soft power and also benefits China’s financial industry, so further integration can spur growth in both sectors, Xie Dong, Shanghai’s vice mayor, said during the forum.

Around 300 guests attended the annual event, including well-known figures and experts from companies in the financial and cultural sectors. Under the theme Integration and Development: the New Journey, the forum included discussions about high-quality development of asset management, as well as green finance. 

An exhibition about the history of the Chinese Work-Study Movement in France was also opened at the forum along with launch ceremonies for a center to research high-quality asset management development, a professional committee for wealth management, and a professional panel for green finance, each under the Asset Management Association of Shanghai.

This year’s event was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Finance, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism and the Hongkou district government.

It was co-organized by China Securities Museum, Shanghai Media Group, which owns Yicai, Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group and the Asset Management Association of Shanghai.
