(Yicai Global) Sept. 18 -- China National Nuclear Power Co. [SHA:601985] said yesterday that Unit 4 of its Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant entered into commercial service yesterday after 168 hours of trial operation.

This marks the completion of the plant's phase one project. The company has 17 operating nuclear power units, and the installed capacity under its control rose from 13,251 megawatts to 14,340 megawatts.

The Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 4 connected to the grid and generated power on July 29 this year before starting commercial operations.

The plant's phase one, comprised of Units 1 through 4, adopts second-generation nuclear power technology. Units 5 and 6, in the under-construction second phase of the project, will use China's Hualong One third-generation technology.
