(Yicai) July 21 -- LumiMind, a consumer brand backed by Shanghai-based Inside Institute for NeuroAI, unveiled its LumiSleep D1 sleep-aid headband at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), marking the company's latest push to bring neuroscience technologies into the consumer market.

LumiSleep D1 uses non-invasive dry electrodes to collect brain-wave data and analyze them continuously to tailor acoustic guidance to the user's current brain state rather than relying on a preset playback mode, Yicai learned.

Consumers have traditionally relied on two main approaches to sleep management: wearable devices such as smartwatches and sleep bands to record sleep data, or white noise and music to create a more conducive sleep environment. LumiMind aims to combine real-time brain signal monitoring with adaptive feedback in a single product.

The product incorporates LumiMind's proprietary Real-Time Neural Coupling Modulation™ technology, which continuously detects changes in brain activity and provides millisecond-level dynamic feedback. The company said this allows the device to better match the body's natural rhythms and gradually guide users into a resting state.

At the exhibition booth, visitors were able to try the LumiSleep D1 and view real-time electroencephalogram waveforms through a mobile app. Yicai observed that the EEG curves changed instantly when users blinked, adjusted their posture, or experienced other changes in their state, making otherwise imperceptible neural signals visible.

Founded in August 2023, Inside Institute for NeuroAI focuses on interdisciplinary research combining artificial intelligence and neuroscience. The company conducts research into large-scale EEG models, neural signal decoding, and brain-computer interfaces, while working to commercialize these technologies in areas including brain health management and human-computer interaction.

The company said sleep is the first consumer application for LumiMind but not the last. It plans to expand the use of its real-time EEG sensing, neural signal analysis, and dynamic feedback technologies into areas including emotion regulation, focus enhancement, and other neuroscience-related applications.
