(Yicai Global) Aug. 29 -- Wanda Film Holding Co. (Wanda Film) [SHE:002739], a cinema operator subsidiary of China's commercial real estate giant Dalian Wanda Group Co., realized operating income of USD1 billion (CNY6.62 billion) in the first half, up 15.6 percent over last year, when its box office revenue reached USD654 million, up 8 percent per year.

Wanda Film gained net profits of USD134.03 million in the first half, with annual growth of 10 percent, and earnings per share during the report term of USD0.11, the semi-annual report Wanda Film issued on Aug. 28 shows.

The company achieved box office revenue of USD654.3 million, rising 8 annual percentage points, while audiences tallied 100.1 million person-times, up 4 percent. A total of 55 cinemas had opened with 4,000 screens by June 30 for an addition of 54 cinemas and 436 screens.

As non-box office revenue, Wanda Film earned income of USD360 million from advertising, film marketing and derivatives, making up 36 percent of total income. Its growth in this line is thus rapid.

The box office in China's film market touched USD3.9 billion in the first half, 3.5 percent higher than the year before. Audiences were 780 million person-times, growing 7.7 percent per year. Wanda Film's referenced indexes, including box office, audience numbers and market share, all held onto first place in China.
