China and the US have agreed on the first phase of an economic and trade deal. The US government has pledged to eliminate some tariffs it planned to or has imposed on China, and will step up tariff exemptions for Chinese exports to ease tension over trade, said Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance.

The level of weighted average tariff between China and the US is expected to continue to fall in 2020, but it unlikely the development of China-US trade will be smooth sailing. China will deal with any possible situation in China-US trade in an efficient and steady manner.
