(Yicai) Sept. 20 -- The first exhibit to arrive in Shanghai for the China International Import Expo this November is a three-wheel electric vehicle from Japan’s Yamaha Motor.
The Tricera, a concept vehicle with an innovative steering system, cleared customs after recently arriving in the city, the General Administration of Customs said yesterday.
“The first exhibit for the seventh CIIE arrived quite early,” said Wu Jie, the head of the CIIE team at China COSCO Shipping. “The CIIE team at the Shanghai Administration of Customs guided and assisted us in completing the customs declaration for this item, ensuring a smooth entry process.”
After learning of the shipping plan for the Tricera, the SAC’s CIIE unit immediately assigned dedicated personnel to guide Yamaha through the declaration process, an official said, ensuring a paperless and efficient experience that balances both security and convenience.
The SAC has introduced 18 new measures to support the smooth and safe operation of the CIIE this year, according to the GAC’s statement.
The CIIE is a flagship trade event showcasing products from a range of international businesses, with a focus on boosting imports and fostering global trade cooperation, and attracts exhibitors and buyers from across the globe.
So far, more than 2,000 companies from over 100 countries and regions have signed up for about 366,000 square meters of exhibition space at this year’s CIIE, which will be held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai between Nov. 5 and 10.
COSCO Shipping, a major logistics company, is one of the main providers of transport services for the expo. The Shanghai-based firm is responsible for handling exhibits for five pavilions, including those for country exhibitions, autos, and food and agricultural produce.
