(Yicai Global) Oct. 10 -- The yuan made solid gains against the dollar again today as the market embraced the upcoming high-level economic and trade talks between China and the United States.

The onshore yuan had gained 0.3 percent on the dollar to 7.1104 as of 1.51 p.m. Beijing time, while the international yuan was trading at 7.1124, up 0.4 percent at the same time. The redback has been on the rise Since Oct. 8, the first trading day in China after the week-long National Day holiday.

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He is set to begin a fresh round of negotiations with Washington later today at the invitation of the US government.
