(Yicai Global) March 5 -- Shanghai reported no new cases of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 yesterday for the second day in a row, and after only registering one in the last week, bringing the eastern megacity's total to 338, its health commission announced this morning.

Four tourists turned up by the customs who were positive for nucleic acid tests are undergoing medical observation and quarantine. They will pass through further checks and epidemiological investigation. If they are confirmed, this information will be immediately released to the public, the commission said at a press conference yesterday.

China's customs had detected 75 imported cases of Covid-19 by last night, after finding 779 suspected cases and more than 6,000 travelers with corresponding symptoms, the General Administration of Customs said yesterday.

Among the Shanghai patients, three have died, nine remain in critical condition and 28 are stable. Four more patients recovered and left hospital during the day for a total of 298 now discharged.

As of yesterday, the city had cleared 2,456 suspected cases, while another 32 are still undergoing further tests.
