(Yicai Global) May 7 -- ZTE, China's second-biggest telecoms equipment maker behind Huawei, has unveiled its first 5G phone in the country's southeastern city of Fuzhou.

The Axon 10 Pro can download information 10 times faster than a typical 4G phone and matches technical requirements of the world's mainstream telecom operators, Xu Feng, president of ZTE's terminals department, said at the unveiling ceremony.

The phone is ready to ship out, he added, predicting that there will be 8 million 5G phones in circulation in China by the end of the year and telling of ZTE's plans to capture a good share of the market.

The firm plans to start selling the Axon 10 Pro in Germany, Austria and Finland soon.
