(Yicai Global) Feb. 11 -- Lens Technology resumed work and production yesterday following China's epidemic-extended Lunar New Year holiday, and dismissed as unfounded rumors reports it has closed its factories over novel coronavirus cases, a staffer in charge at the company said, The Paper reported today, sending the company's stock through the roof.

Shares [SHE:300433] in Lens Technology, which researches, develops, produces and sells high-end window touch protective glass panels, touch modules and new window touch protection materials, closed up 7.1 percent at CNY20.67 (USD2.96) today.

The firm's plants in central Hunan province, where it is based, and in Dongguan in southern Guangdong province are essentially fully cranked up, it said. The workers in Hunan -- whose border with the coronavirus epicenter of Hubei to the north doubtless fueled the claims the firm denies -- are all locals and so getting to work is quite easy for them, and 70 to 80 percent of its employees are back on the job, an insider at Lens Technology said.

The company is keeping a watchful eye on the pestilence, strictly implements various prevention and control measures, vouches for the health of the many employees who stayed on-site for the Chinese New Year, has zero cases within its ranks, and will ensure stable operations and production in the first quarter, it said.

It has also set up an epidemic squad made up of over 400 members, presided over by its chairman, Zhou Qunfei. The team consists of a prevention and control corps, a disinfection battalion, a logistics support group, a medical emergency detail and a party-member cadre to build up an overall health and epidemic prevention network for its tens of thousands-strong workforce.

Lens Technology has hoarded more than 900,000 masks, over 200 thermometers, 900-odd boxes of disinfectant, and set up 300 isolation dormitories. The company has installed sets of its self-developed automatic disinfectant spray devices in offices and production areas. Its procurement department is integrating domestic and foreign resources, and continuing to stock up on protective materials for 30-plus days' supply to ensure the health of employees and stable production.
