(Yicai Global) Nov. 13 -- To ensure smooth proceeding of China's Single's Day shopping festival, e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA] has rapidly expanded the capacity of its 100,000 servers, achieving transactions for 140,000 brands and 15 million kinds of products and commodities, providing financial security, said Yunfei He, senior product manager of Alibaba Cloud, also referred to as Aliyun, and the technology director of Double-11 shopping gala, TechWeb reported.

Alibaba's cloud service platform Aliyun also prepared more than 1,200 'Content Distribution Network' (CDN) nodes in more than 60 countries and regions on four continents across the world to deal with the explosive growth of photos, text and videos on Alibaba's e-commerce platforms, Tmall and Taobao.

Tmall reached its transaction peak at 325,000 processes per second and payment peak at 256,000 processes per second during the e-commerce festival that falls on Nov. 11 every year, data showed, representing an increase of 1.1 times over last year, setting a new record yet again. It reached its database processing peak at 42 million per second.
