(Yicai Global) Oct.27 -- Ride-hailing operator Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur, which is backed by the Beijing government, and Chinese internet giant Baidu Inc. [NASDAQ:BIDU] will work together to promote intelligent transportation and commercial applications of the Internet of Vehicles and autonomous driving technologies, the companies said yesterday.

Baidu will provide its Baidu Map, DuerOS and Apollo platforms to Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur, while the latter will conduct commercial autonomous driving operations through its own platform.

Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur is a car-hailing platform set up by Shouyue Technology Beijing Co. and Shouqi Group. The firm operates in 52 cities in China with more than 66,000 vehicles in circulation. It holds offline operation licenses for 36 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Chengdu.
