(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- China's internet online ride-hailing platform Shou Yue Technology (Beijing) Co. will test driverless cars, which will be put into operation in qualified areas by the end of this month

Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur, an application of Shou Yue Technology, has customized its services for users to appoint drivers, use cars in packages, and summon cars for others. By the end of November, the taxi-hailing service will come online in the application, and the company will test online-hailing driverless cars, Chinese and Japanese media reports said today.

Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur signed a strategic agreement with internet giant Baidu, Inc. [NASDAQ:BIDU] on Oct. 26, under which the latter will provide intelligent voice research and development platform DuerOS and automatic driving research and development platform Apollo to help the former realize a commercial operation on automatic driving.

DuerOS can help passengers manipulate vehicular functions through their voices, while Apollo will enable the functions of automatic driving. Besides, Baidu will support Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur with its electronic maps, the reports suggested.

Automatic driving technology is not far away from the reality, and the company has already exchanged the technology in terms of the corresponding problems, said Wei Dong, CEO of Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur. It will carry out road tests in qualified areas and introduce the relevant car-hailing business.
