(Yicai Global) April 17 -- China's surveyed urban unemployment rate was 5.9 percent last month in an improvement from the 6.2 percent tally in February, according to data published by the National Bureau of Statistics today.

Some 2.29 million new jobs were created in cities and towns, the NBS said.

The ranks of migrant workers totaled 123 million as of the end of February.
