(Yicai Global) Dec. 3 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland headed in both directions this morning after starting the day lower.

The Shanghai Composite Index clawed back to end the morning 0.11 percent lower at 2,872.74, while the Shenzhen Component Index marginally extended its decline to 9,579.56, down 0.27 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, more than doubled its opening dip, ending for lunch down 0.73 percent at 1,657.30.
