(Yicai Global) March 17 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland diverged in today's afternoon session after trading within a limited window following a rollercoaster morning as investors dwell on Covid-19's impact on the global economy.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.34 percent at 2,779.64, a six-week low, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.49 percent lower at 10,202.75. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, fared the best it closed up 0.36 percent at 1,917.70.
