(Yicai Global) Feb. 13 -- Chinese mobile mapping giant NavInfo will provide positioning services for BMW's autopilot cars in China.

NavInfo will make and maintain map products and services for BMW's cars in brands including Mini and Rolls-Royce that involve the autonomy of level 3 and higher, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement yesterday. The cars will be delivered from 2021 to 2024, and the pricing will depend on the Munich-based firm's sales in China.

The pair started collaborating as early as in 2017, when BMW China Automotive Trading chose NavInfo to provide electronic maps for BMW's cars until 2021.

Founded in 2002, NavInfo makes positioning products for Daimler, General Motors, Toyota, and Hyundai.
