(Yicai Global) Sept. 23 -- Chinese mapmaker Navinfo has signed a telematics location platform agreement with BMW to analyze and process the car manufacturer's geographic data.
The Beijing-based firm will collect data from BMW cars sold in China from this year through 2024, it said in a statement yesterday. This includes locally produced and imported BMWs, Minis and Rolls-Royces, according to the deal.
Founded in 2002, NavInfo is best known as a producer of maps for self-driving vehicles, its high precision positioning technology and automotive chips for advanced driving assistants and autonomous driving.
