China's Probe Into Rubber Imports From US, EU, Singapore is Normal Trade Remedy Action, MOFCOM Says China's Probe Into Rubber Imports From US, EU, Singapore is Normal Trade Remedy Action, MOFCOM Says

(Yicai Global) Aug. 31 -- China's anti-dumping probe into halogenated butyl rubber imported from the US, EU and Singapore was initiated as a normal trade remedy investigation, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce Gao Feng said when asked if the inquiry was a response to America's recent Section 301 investigation.

There is no need to link the case to others, he added, saying the commerce ministry will carry out its investigations in a fair, impartial manner in accordance with rules outlined by the World Trade Organization.

The application for a probe into the rubber was submitted by domestic firms on Aug. 14. The ministry announced it would investigate the matter on Aug. 30 after finding that the application met relevant requirements.

Halogenated butyl rubber is an upgraded rubber product mainly used in manufacturing shockproof materials, adhesives and sealing materials.
