(Yicai Global) May 17 -- A unit of China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd (CRCC) has secured a CNY42.3 billion (USD6.7 billion) contract to build a railroad from the Nigerian capital city Lagos on the Atlantic coast to Kano near the Niger border.

The project, which will take four years, is the worth the equivalent of 6.2 percent of CRCC's operating income from last year, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement.

China Civil Engineering Construction Corp will carry out the works, representing the fourth part of the Nigerian railway modernization project.
