(Yicai Global) Nov. 18 -- China's shipments of smartphones fell 4.5 percent last month to 34.61 million units from a year earlier, according to new figures the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released today.
Beijing-based CAICT, an industry think tank under China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in its monthly sector report that the October shipment of fourth-generation wireless communication network technology-compliant phones was 32.22 million, while the deliveries of fifth-generation wireless network communications technology handsets reached 2.49 million for the month.
Smartphone shipments of 309 million units in the first 10 months marked a 4.3 percent drop from the same period last year and included 3.28 million 5G phones.
