China's Stocks Drop in Morning

(Yicai Global) Sept. 23 -- Investors' shied from getting stuck into the markets before the National Day holiday that starts next week, and this sentiment pushed Chinese stock markets to close down this morning.

The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.31 percent to 2,967.01. The Shenzhen Component Index slumped by 1.56 percent to 9,727.23. The ChiNext Price Index plunged 1.76 percent to 1,675.03.

Markets will shutter from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic.
