(Yicai Global) May 30 -- Authorities in China's northern Hebei province will build a national-level delivery hub close to the under-construction Beijing Daxing International Airport, ahead of an expected increase in parcel volumes in the capital as well as in Xiong'an New Area.

Hebei provincial government will build a major express delivery center around the new airport as well as two smaller facilities in provincial capital Shijiazhuang and Baoding where Xiong'an is located, People's Daily Online reported.

Hebei's express delivery volume is expected to hit 2.5 billion items by 2020, representing an average annual growth rate exceeding 30 percent. The daily processing capacity of express logistics parks in eight of the 11 prefecture-level cities in the province are expected to exceed 500,000 items and those of the remaining three cities will also reach 200,000 items.

Authorities also plan to guide e-commerce companies and platforms and express logistics companies in carrying out data exchanges and information sharing to improve delivery efficiency. The province will also look to bring in a uniform management system for end-point delivery drivers.

Slated for completion this July, Beijing Daxing International Airport is a super large-scale international aviation transport hub located between Beijing's Daxing District and Hebei's Langfang City. The airport's annual average passenger throughput is expected to be 45 million.
