(Yicai Global) Aug. 24 -- Four days after announcing its implementation of a mixed-ownership reform program, China United Network Communications Ltd.'s [SHA:600050] A-shares fell during afternoon trading today.

China Unicom's A-shares closed at USD1.26 (CNY8.36), down 6.7 percent, after falling as much as 8.26 percent to a low of CNY8.22. A total volume of more than CNY7.3 billion was traded today.

China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. [HKG:0762] also dropped this afternoon. It closed at USD1.49 (HKD11.68), down 2.99 percent. Volume traded was worth HKD1.48 billion.
