Jushen Logistics’ Unit Inks USD134 Million Bauxite Transshipment Deal in Guinea(Yicai) Jan. 6 -- Jushen Logistics Group said an indirectly held subsidiary has signed a USD134 million, three-year deal to move bauxite from port to ships waiting offshore in Guinea.
Hong Kong Shenrui Shipping penned the contract with the customer, which was not identified due to confidentiality reasons, its Foshan-based parent company announced yesterday. It has no affiliation with the client, Jushen Logistics added.
Bauxite is the main ore used to produce aluminum, which is used in making products ranging from transportation and construction materials to packaging, power cables, and consumer electronics.
If executed as planned, the deal should positively impact Jushen Logistics' finances and earnings results, enhance its core capabilities and market influence, and support continued, healthy business growth, according to the company.
Net profit at Jushen Logistics fell 12 percent to CNY59.2 million (USD8.5 million) in the January to September of last year from a year earlier, while operating revenue surged 82 percent to CNY1.3 billion (USD186 million).
Established in November 2011, it provides full logistical services for bulk commodities, including aluminum, copper, zinc, tin, alumina, industrial silicon, stainless steel, and polyvinyl chloride.
Shares of Jushen Logistics [SHE: 001202] ended little changed in Shenzhen trading today, falling 0.1 percent to CNY15.93 (USD2.28) apiece.
