China's Minieye Allies With Ewpartners to Bring Robovans to Saudi Arabia(Yicai) Jan. 21 -- Minieye Technology has teamed up with Saudi cross-border investment firm Ewpartners to promote the use of the Chinese smart driving solutions provider's autonomous delivery vehicles in the Middle Eastern country.
Minieye and Ewpartners plan to explore the large-scale deployment of Level-4 robovans in Saudi Arabia, aiming to deploy up to 1,000 vehicles by 2030, the Shenzhen-based firm announced on WeChat today, adding that the tie-up marks its entry into the Middle East and the first overseas expansion of its relevant business.
Minieye will gradually start delivering the Xiaozhu robovan, which is primarily designed for last-mile deliveries and retail scenarios in supermarkets and other related segments, as well as a complete set of technical solutions to Saudi Arabia, it said.
In addition, Minieye will specially optimize the Xiaozhu to ensure its stable operation in Saudi Arabia's extremely high temperatures and sandstorms, it pointed out.
Minieye's smart driving and intelligent cockpit products have been integrated into multiple vehicles sold overseas, including in the European Union, Australia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Dubai, and Turkey.
Ewpartners focuses on promoting cross-border investments between Asia and the Middle East. In 2017, with the support of sovereign wealth funds and investors from Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council, it became the first institution to set up a cross-border investment platform between Saudi Arabia and China.
