(Yicai) Sept. 23 -- Shares in Zhejiang Prulde Electric Appliance jumped as much as 6.8 percent today after the Chinese machinery manufacturer said it has secured an order worth more than CNY700 million (USD98 million) to supply power tools to a well-known international company.

Prulde’s share price [SHE:301353] closed up 2.6 percent at CNY29.20 (USD4.10). Earlier in the day it hit CNY30.40.

Prulde did not reveal the name of its customer, citing confidentiality reasons. However, the firm did say in the statement it released today that the client is a leading global brand in the power tools sector and a frontrunner in Europe’s lithium-battery tool market. The customer is one of Prulde’s top 10 clients and maintains a long-term, stable business relationship with the company.

Prulde has been deeply engaged in the power tool industry for years. The Jinhua-based firm’s net profit surged 14.2 percent in the first half from a year earlier to CNY45.6 million (USD6.4 million) while revenue soared 11.9 percent to CNY461 million (USD64.8 million).
