Chinese Banks in Middle East Haven’t Reported Any Damage So Far(Yicai) March 12 -- Chinese banks with branches in the Middle East, mainly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, have not reported any damage to date.
After US and Israeli strikes hit an Iranian bank on March 10, the Iranian military yesterday vowed to take retaliatory action against US and Israeli economic centers and banks in the region, and warned people to keep away from potential targets.
Over the past 20 years large Chinese state-owned lenders, including Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Construction Bank, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, have set up branches in the Middle East.
Their operations in the region include deposit-taking, lending, trade finance, and settlement services.
