(Yicai Global) April 5 -- The Chinese mainland reported 30 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) yesterday, of which 25 were imported and five domestic cases were reported in Guangdong province, the National Health Commission said today.

By the end of yesterday, 913 imported cases had been reported, according to the commission. Among them, 697 are being treated at hospitals, including 18 in critical condition, and 216 have been discharged upon recovery.

Also yesterday, three deaths, all in Hubei province, and 11 new suspected cases, all imported ones, were reported on the mainland, the commission said. 

Meanwhile, the mainland reported 47 new asymptomatic Covid-19 cases yesterday and three were confirmed of being infected with the virus, according to the commission.

The commission said that 1,024 asymptomatic-infected patients were still under medical observation as of yesterday, including 239 from overseas.

The commission said 213 people were discharged from hospital after recovery yesterday, while the number of severe cases decreased by 36 to 295.

The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 81,669 by the end of yesterday, including 1,376 patients who were still being treated, 76,964 patients who had been discharged after recovery, and 3,329 people who died of the disease.

The commission said that 107 people were still suspected of being infected with the virus.

The commission added that 17,436 close contacts were still under medical observation and 1,869 people were discharged from medical observation yesterday.

By the end of yesterday, 862 confirmed cases had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including four deaths), 44 in the Macau Special Administrative Region and 355 in Taiwan (including five deaths).

A total of 186 patients in Hong Kong, 10 in Macau and 50 in Taiwan have been discharged from hospital after recovery.
