(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- China's mainland stock markets retained their morning gains this afternoon with the liquor and semiconductor sectors leading the way alongside Huawei-related firms.
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.46 percent to close at 2,999.28 with turnover of CNY193.2 billion (USD27.2 billion), nearing the psychologically important 3,000 milestone significant. The Shenzhen Component Index increased by 1.01 percent to end at 9,852.20, with investors trading CNY298.3 billion worth of shares, and the ChiNext Price Index leaped 1.57 percent to finish at 1,705.60 after CNY107.7 billion of shares swapped hands. Most shares listed on the Star Market closed higher.
E-sports, gold and insurance-related stocks ranked among the biggest losers.
