(Yicai Global) April 9 -- China's stock markets began the day mixed today following yesterday's slide .
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.14 percent to 3,240.39 points. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.16 percent to 10,368.03 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, was down 0.31 percent at 1,734.18 points.
The Chinese stock market has been in a zone since the beginning of this year, with major indexes advancing, as the government has promoted more stimulus to support small and medium-sized companies and vowed to open up the markets to more foreign investors, which has driven more buying.
