(Yicai Global) Aug. 4 -- Stock markets on China's mainland opened mixed this morning as growth stocks came under profit-taking pressure after yesterday’s huge gains.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.25 percent higher at 3,376.44, while the Nasdaq-like Star Market Board 50 Index, or Star 50, slipped 0.12 percent to 1,620.79 after yesterday’s over 7 percent jump.
The Shenzhen Component Index stood at 13,966.73, up 0.02 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, dropped 0.19 percent to 2,863.32.
