(Yicai Global) May 6 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened down and extended losses to end the morning at their lowest point in more than two months today amid a decline from typical trading volumes.
The Shanghai Composite hit the lunch break down 5.2 percent at 2,918.65, while the Shenzhen Component Index had fallen 6.15 percent to 9,079.74. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, was 6.55 percent lower at 1,517.46.
