Chinese Mainland Stocks Start Day Lower Amid Global Trade Concerns

(Yicai Global) Oct. 9 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened lower this morning after overseas markets were hit hard overnight amid concerns over global trade friction.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.39 percent lower at 2,902.08, while the Shenzhen Component Index started down 0.33 percent at 9,443.45. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began the day 0.41 percent weaker at 1,613.02.
