(Yicai Global) March 6 -- Chinese mainland stocks took a downturn after opening higher as investors locked in profits from rises in recent days.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.09 percent to 3,051.50 points at 10.02 a.m. after it had gone up as much as 1 percent to 3,083.41 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index stood at 9522.86 points, down 0.76 percent, a fall off from the 9,683.94-point apex this morning in a 0.92 percent rise.
The ChiNext price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, dropped 0.87 percent to 1,662.04 points after clambering up 1.3 percent to 1,698.32 points.
