(Yicai Global) May 6 -- China's mainland stock markets closed higher as tech shares, which had slumped in the morning, staged a more than 5 percent surge.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.63 percent up at 2,878.14. The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.51 percent to 10,883.22. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, rose 1.97 percent to 2,110.27.
