(Yicai Global) July 27 -- Mammoth Chinese marine transport service supplier Cosco Shipping Lines recently set up an online booking platform in the 100-day lead into the first China International Import Expo that offers custom freight services to overseas exhibitors, state media The Paper reported.

Cosco Shipping Lines is a container shipper under state-backed Shanghai-based China Cosco Shipping Group, the service supplier CIIE recommends for expo-related international shipping.  

Exhibitors can check the real-time logistics information of exhibits through its online booking platform, including the number of containers and sail schedules, Cosco Shipping Group said, and can also track the status of cargo in real time, with detailed locations and conditions.

Cosco Shipping Group also offers less-than-container-load services based on the unique features of exhibit carriage, though full-container-loads are also available.

The company pledges to adopt preferential freight policies to exhibitors from developing and less-developed countries and regions, per corresponding requests by China's commerce ministry and the CIIE Bureau, the company said, as further proof that Beijing is going all out to make the Shanghai fair a success.
