(Yicai Global) July 8 -- Nearly 230,000 people have been affected and almost 8,400 people evacuated due to heavy rains in southeast China's Jiangxi province.

Rivers were already overflowing yesterday and, yet, the weather forecast suggests that more rain is approaching central and northern parts of Jiangxi in the next few days.

Rice fields were inundated. 

Workers sought to clear out a road damaged by the wet weather in the city of Fuzhou. 

Streets in Fuzhou were covered in water. 

Residents in Lichuan county, Fuzhou, tried to keep the mud from entering their houses.
