(Yicai Global) Oct. 23 -- Big Data management system operator E-Hualu Information Technology has won a CNY76.18 million (USD10.8 million) bid to build a high-precision positioning system for China's homegrown Beidou satellite navigation network.

Using data from over 3,000 Beidou reference stations, E-Hualu will store and calculate massive spatiotemporal information to provide nationwide users with real-time location services precise to the closest millimeter, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement yesterday.

Run by the China Aero Geophysical Survey and Remote Sensing Center, the project will provide high-precision mapping that can be used in many professional scenarios including emergency, maritime navigation and smart traffic services.

It will provide location pinpointing with a less-than-one-meter and even centimeter-level accuracy to autonomous autos and vehicle-to-everything communication, or V2X, which includes vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-pedestrian, vehicle-to-infrastructure and vehicle-to-network connections, the firm said.

It will integrate with existing urban traffic brains, intelligent driving roadside signals, automobile electronic signs, smart highways and other infrastructure to form a complete Beidou plus V2X solution, the statement said.

China expects to complete its Beidou global geolocation network by 2020. It provides all-time, all-weather and high-accuracy positioning, navigation and timing services to global users.
